Roseblood d'Estoublon

1489 Roseblood Rose 2023

Côtes de Provence

Download

1489 represents the year Château d’Estoublon was founded. It draws inspiration from the magnificent rose garden of Estoublon, where delicate roses meet the intense Provencal sun. Made from AOP Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence, in the Western part of the Provence region, exclusively from the estate’s vineyards. Atop Provence’s volcanic crater, 50-year-old vines thrive, benefiting from the Mistral wind. The blend of Grenache and Syrah promises a wine noted for its roundness, power, and complexity. This wine is presented in a personalized bottle adorned with a rose, making it a haute-couture cuvée.

Vineyard

The vines are situated on the crater of Provence’s sole volcano, on parcels at altitudes exceeding 1,300 feet. Approximately 50 years old and benefit from the nurturing influence of the Mistral wind. Planted in clay-limestone and clay-limestone-marl soils, the Syrah plots contain fragments of basalt in their soil composition. With well-established roots, the vines express the purest terroir essence, resulting in limited yields and, consequently, a concentration and balance in the grapes.

Winemaking

The grapes are meticulously hand-harvested and sorted directly on the bunch, then sorted again upon arrival at the winery. The juice obtained from whole bunch pressing undergoes natural cold settling for 12 hours before the initial racking. Alcoholic fermentation employs both indigenous and selected yeast strains and takes place in stainless steel tanks, large-format vats, and 225L and 500L barrels, with 10% being new.

Vintage

2023 was a solar and graceful vintage, exhibiting a delightful aromatic expression with interplay of acidity and freshness.
